When you think of automotive history, the names that come to mind are carmakers celebrating their centennials such as Alfa Romeo, Ford and Mercedes-Benz. But the younger carmakers deserve some historical props, too. We reckon Father Christmas is probably a bit of a Bentley guy: he has a large number of miles to cover in speed and in great comfort – and he needs something big and plush to look after all those presents. What better solution than something mixing the design class of a Bentley with the snow-covering ability of a downhill toboggan? Bentley designers John Paul Gregory imagined a futuristic Santa Azure Sleigh (complete with rifled tailpipes and exposed Bentley Blitzen powerplant), while Yunwoo Jeong turned the Continental GTC cabrio into a sleigh with quad-outrigged headlamps and begoggled Santa.

We brought you news back in February that high-end Car Auctioneers R.M. Auctions were offering for sale an extremely rare 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa at the Ferrari Leggenda e Passione sale in Maranello today. Well, the sale went as planned, because the Ferrari 250 TR sold for a world auction record €9,020,000, beating the previous record by €1,980,000.
